Language Arts
Wilson Reading System
WRS is reading curriculum designed to teach reading skills to students from 2nd grade through adult who have been unable to learn with other teaching strategies and require multisensory language instruction due to a language-based learning disability, such as dyslexia. WRS is a structured literacy program based on phonological-coding research and Orton-Gillingham principles that directly and systematically teaches the structure of the English language. Students receive instruction in word structure, word recognition, spelling of high frequency words (including irregular words), vocabulary, fluency, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, and proof-reading and self-monitoring skills.
