Our Accreditation
READ Academy holds full accreditation from the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC). This accreditation confirms that our school meets established standards for educational quality, curriculum, and student support while maintaining our specialized focus on dyslexia education.
WASC accreditation involves ongoing self-evaluation and regular reviews by trained educators who visit our campus, observe our classrooms, and assess student outcomes. This accountability helps ensure we continue to grow and improve as a school community.
What is WASC?
The Western Association of Schools and Colleges is one of six regional accrediting bodies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. ACS WASC accredits over 5,500 public and private schools across California, Hawaii, Asia, and the Pacific region. The organization works closely with the California Department of Education and the University of California system.

Colleges, universities, and other schools recognize academic credits from WASC-accredited institutions. The University of California system requires WASC accreditation for schools to maintain approved a-g course lists. Our teachers hold certifications in structured literacy programs including Wilson Reading System and Orton-Gillingham methodologies. We use Making Math Real for mathematics instruction. Our small class sizes maintain a 4:1 student-to-teacher ratio.
